Front Desk Assistant
For those willing to provide 3-4 hours weekly for at least three months. Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Greet clients and visitors
- Answer phones
- Distribute mail
- Answer client inquiries
Clothing Room/Shower Desk Assistant
For those willing to provide a 3-4 hours weekly or bi-weekly for at least three months. All shower desk volunteers must be at least 16 years of age.
- Provide clients with towels and toiletries
- Keep toiletry items filled for client use
- Sort, size and stock clothing donations for client use
- Assist clients in clothing room
- Fold clean linens
Organizer
For those willing to provide 3-4 hours weekly or bi-weekly for at least three months. Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Keep household donation area in order
- Create Housewarming Baskets for newly housed clients
Client Computer Assistant
For those willing to provide 3-4 hours weekly or bi-weekly for at least three months. Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Assist clients with computers
Case Manager Assistant
For those willing to provide 3-4 hours weekly or bi-weekly for at least three months. Must be at least 18 years of age.
- General office/clerical help
- Deliver groceries/supplies to clients (must have valid license and insurance)
Volunteer Groups
Groups can be up to 6 people, ranging in age from 8-80 (or more!) Usually, groups help in the clothing room where they fold clean linens, organize and sort donations, and fill individual toiletries for clients’ showers. Groups may also wipe down sleeping mats, clean windows and help with general shelter cleanup.
Meal Providers
- Lunch: provide and serve for approximately 75 shelter clients
- Snack: provide nutritious snacks for approximately 75 shelter clients
- Dinner: provide and serve for approximately 75 shelter clients
Clinic
For those willing to provide 3-4 hours weekly or bi-weekly for at leas three months.
Registered Nurse Volunteer
All registered nurse volunteers must be currently licensed and registered to practice with the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing.
- Triage medical and psychosocial client issues under the supervision or direction of a nurse practitioner or physician
- Document client dates in electronic medical records in accordance with agency policy
- Deliver age-appropriate care for the client population
Clinic Receptionist/Assistant
All clinic receptionists and clinic volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
- Copy and file medical paperwork
- Prepare medication packets
Off Site Volunteer
Here are ways to help us help our guests without serving in the shelter:
- Hold a collection drive for a specific need: i.e. tennis shoes, underwear, coats, hoodies, cereal, bottled water, etc. Please either see the needs list or call 918-583-5588 for specifics
- Make Housewarming Baskets for our clients’ as they transition into their new homes. See needs list here.Â
Hudson Villas
For both groups or individuals that are willing to help at our permanent supportive housing apartments located at 727 S. Hudson. Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Sponsor and organize activities such as arts and crafts, yoga, chair exercise.
- Visit with tenants
- Personal trainers (utilize onsite gym equipment).
- Organize and host Bingo and provide small items for prizes
- General maintenance: wash windows, weed flower beds, clean empty units
