To Volunteer
Fill out and submit the volunteer application linked below. Once we receive the application, our Volunteer Coordinator will call you for an interview and schedule a tour. Call our Volunteer Coordinator at (918) 583-5588.
Front Desk Assistant
For those willing to provide 3-4 hours weekly for at least three months. Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Greet clients and visitors
- Answer phones
- Distribute mail
- Answer client inquiries
Shower Desk/Computer Assistant
For those willing to provide 3-4 hours weekly or bi-weekly for at least three months. All shower desk volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
- Provide clients with towels and toiletries
- Keep toiletry items filled for client use
- Assist clients with Day Center computers
Clothing Room/Donation Area
For those willing to provide 3-4 hours weekly or bi-weekly for at least three months. Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Assist with accepting donations
- Sort, size, and organize donations
- Restock clothing room
- Assist clients in the clothing room
- Fold clean linens
Facility
For those willing to provide 3-4 hours weekly or bi-weekly for at least three months. Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Assist the maintenance team with the general upkeep
Organizer
For those willing to provide 3-4 hours weekly or bi-weekly for at least three months. Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Keep household donation area in order
- Create Housewarming Baskets for newly housed clients
Case Manager Assistant
For those willing to provide 3-4 hours weekly or bi-weekly for at least three months. Must be at least 18 years of age.
- General office/clerical help
Volunteer Groups
Groups can be up to 6 people, ranging in age from 8-80 (or more!)
- Help in the clothing/donation area where they fold clean linens, organize and sort donations, and fill individual toiletries for clients’ showers. Groups may also wipe down sleeping mats, clean windows, and help with general shelter cleanup.
- Organize activities such as arts and crafts, yoga, chair exercise, board games, Bingo, Bible study
Meal Providers
- Lunch: provide and serve approximately 200 shelter clients
- Snack: provide nutritious snacks for approximately 200 shelter clients
- Dinner: provide and serve approximately 85 shelter clients
Clinic
For those willing to provide 3-4 hours weekly or bi-weekly for at least 3-6 months.
Registered Nurse Volunteer
All registered nurse volunteers must be currently licensed and registered to practice by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing.
- Triage of medical and psychosocial client issues under the supervision or direction of a nurse practitioner or physician
- Document client information in electronic medical records in accordance with agency policy
- Deliver age-appropriate care for the client population within the registered scope of practice
- Willingly to commit to a 3–6-month period
Clinic Receptionist/Assistant
All clinic receptionists and clinic volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
- Answer phones
- Check-in patients and help fill out paperwork when needed
- Prepare medication packets
Off-Site Volunteer
Here are ways to help us help our guests without serving in the shelter:
- Hold a collection drive for a specific need: i.e. tennis shoes, underwear, coats, hoodies, cereal, bottled water, etc. Please either see the needs list or call 918-583-5588 for specifics
- Make Housewarming Baskets for our clients as they transition into their new homes. See the needs list here.
Hudson Villas
For both groups or individuals that are willing to help at our permanent supportive housing apartments located at 727 S. Hudson. Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Sponsor and organize activities such as arts and crafts, yoga, chair exercise, Bingo, Bible study
- Visit with tenants-might include light housekeeping
- Personal trainers (utilize onsite gym equipment).
- General facility maintenance: wash windows, weed flower beds, clean empty units
