The mission of the Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless is to provide a safe and healthy environment for people who are homeless and provide opportunities and encouragement for achieving self-sufficiency.
Lisa came to the Day Center very sick. She had also been suffering with mental illness for many years. Her friends and family, while still loving her, could no longer help her. She eventually found us and was quickly seen by our clinic staff, who determined that she needed immediate hospitalization. She did get better and was soon discharged. Unfortunately, she began the dangerous downward spiral again. During her time with us, she was hospitalized several times. However, the last time she was in the hospital, a court order was issued, requiring her to stay on her medication.
Since then, she has been under a doctor’s care, has secured permanent housing, a job and of course a brighter future. Congratulations, Lisa!
